ENERGETIC CHAIR

1. The formation and activity of the department

Department of "Electric Power Engineering and Heat Power Engineering" began its activity in 1995 under the name of "Heat and Power Engineering". Since 2010, due to the introduction of new teaching standards, the name of the department was renamed as "Electricity and Heat Power Engineering".

Mingachevir State University was established on the basis of the Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute by the corresponding decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 24.07.2015. Accordingly, the reorganized Department of "Electroenergetics and Heat Power Engineering" has been operating in the name of "Energy" department since 2016 with the order of the rector of the university.

During all periods of activity, the chair was guided by the "Regulation on Chairs of the High Schools" of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan and established its work under the provisions of this Statute. Bachelor's degree in the department is taught both in visual and in-correspondence form. Employees of the department try to work with the students. If necessary, the literature of the department, as well as the literature of the personal library fund of the teachers are also given to the students.

The role of lesson materials in designing the subjects on the student side is undeniable. All employees of the department are trying to use the opportunities of the university library to improve the quality of teaching, to increase students' scientific and creative abilities, and to develop their ability to work with books. In addition, they are actively involved in providing the library with the textbooks and textbooks. Special disciplines taught at the department are upgraded in accordance with modern requirements.

In 1995-2007 the chair was headed by docent Mustafayev Fazil Mehrali. Since 2007, the head of the department was appointed as Associate Professor Ashurova Ulker Izzat. Ulker Ashurova continues her career as head of the Department of "Energy", reorganized in connection with the establishment of the university.

 

2. Guidance (brief information about the head of the department)

Ashurova Ulker Izzet's daughter was born in 1974 in Ali Bayramli (present Shirvan). In 1996 graduated from Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute, faculty "Power engineering and mechanics" with honors. Since 1996 he has worked at Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute. From 1996 to 1998, he worked as a laboratory assistant at the Department of Physics, Electronics and Insulation, and then as a teacher and then a senior lecturer at the Department of Heat Technology and Power Engineering.

In 1998 he entered the correspondence department of the Azerbaijan State Oil Academy, in 2005 he defended his dissertation on the theme "Temperature regimes of steam pipes" and received a PhD degree in technical sciences.

In 2007, U.I.Ashurova was selected as a Head of the Department of "Heat Technology and Power Engineering" by the competition and currently works as the Head of the Department of "Energy". In 2009 he was working as a docent at the order of the rector.

U.Sh.Ashurova is Doctor of Sciences degree program of Azerbaijan Technical University since 2015.

 

3. About specialty

During the period from the date of the department to 2007, the specialty "Thermal Power Plants" was taught. From 2007-2008 academic year began training on two specialties: T030200 "Electric Networks and Systems" and T040100 "Thermal Power Plants". In the 2009-2010 academic year, the names of these specialties were changed in accordance with new standards and were designated 050608 "Electroenergetics engineering" and 050609 "Heat-engineering engineering".

In addition to the bachelor's degree in the department, mentioned specialty approved by the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 12 January 2009 on the specialty 060608 "Electricity engineering" and 060609 "Heat-engineering engineering" from the 2016/2017 academic year also operates.
