Department of Information Technology

1. Creation and activity of the department

The chair was created on the basis of Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute by the order № 24/1 of 04.05.2001 under the name of "Information Processing and EIS" on the base of "Higher mathematics and AIS" chair. In connection with the introduction of new specialties in the department, in 2006, it was renamed as "Automation and Information Technology", in 2010 it was renamed "Information Technologies and Systems". 050632 Training on Information Technology and Systems Engineering specialty.

Mingachevir State University was established on the basis of the Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute by the corresponding decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 24.07.2015. The reorganized "Information Technologies and Systems" chair restored its activity by the order of the rector of the university.

In 2001-2008, the chair was headed by Doctor of Philosophy in Physics-Mathematics, Associate Professor Sardarli Sadaddin Mursal, assistant professor Israfilova Elmira Nariman in 2008-2017. In 2017, the department was merged with the Department of Mathematics, but it has been restored since 2018 under the name of "Information Technologies". At the present time, Mustafayeva Aida Mubariz daughter is headed by.

Since the beginning of the department, the department cooperates with the departments of other leading universities to improve their teachers' and scientific potential.

The professor-teaching staff of the chair every year participates in scientific conferences and theses in various conferences in republic and abroad.

The curriculum on subjects taught in the specialty is drawn up and put into use after approval by the Scientific Council. Textbooks and textbooks on subjects are being prepared, modern literature and technical innovations are used in teaching disciplines.

Currently, the department carries out preparation of specialists in 050655 "Information Technologies" and bachelor's degree 060632 "Information technology and systems engineering" on bachelor degree.

At the department it is planned to study the problems of scientific-research work "Information processes, technologies, systems and networks, fuzzy systems" for 2016-2020 years.

He is married. She has 2 children.

3. About specialty

Nowadays, the department is continuing its preparation for the bachelor's degree on specialty 050655 "Information technologies" and 060632 "Information technology and systems engineering" on master's degree.

Both specialties are one of the most promising specialties. Information systems - is a field of science and technology that incorporates a set of human activities and tools aimed at the creation and implementation of information collection, transmission, processing, storage and retrieval systems.

Bachelors' problem areas are: information processes and technologies, systems and networks, their software, technical and organizational support, design, configuration, production and operation of information systems in various fields of human activity.

The specialist who graduated from both specialties can work in designing, building and operation of information systems. Graduates of 060632 Master's degree in "Information Technology and Systems Engineering" can continue their research and doctoral studies.
