DEPARTMENT OF mathematics

1. Creation and activity of the department

The Department continued its activity as a department of "Higher Mathematics" in the Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute in the 1995-96 academic year as a non-qualification department until 1991-95 academic year. Since that academic year, the department received the specialty "Economic Information and Automated Control Systems" of IU 02.15 and therefore it was held in 8 specialties covering "Economics and Management" and "Electrical Power Engineering and Mechanics" in the Institute, and 31 subjects, including all subject disciplines on "Information and EIS" specialty.

During the period of his activity, there were 15 employees, including 2 associate professors, 2 Ph.D., senior teacher, 3 senior teachers, 5 assistants, 2 teachers and 1 laboratory manager.

From the day of the department, the head of the department was Ph.D., associate professor S.Sardarli. In the 1996-2002 academic year the department was renamed into the department. K. Kalashov headed. From the 2002-2003 academic year to the department, he was awarded with a Ph.D. Associate Professor S.Mustafayev.

From 2001-2002 academic year, the department operated under the name of "Mathematics and Informatics" and there were 13 teachers in the department: 2 associate professors, 2 brakes, senior teachers, 4 senior teachers, 4 teachers, 1 senior laboratory assistant and worked in "Mathematics", "Applied Mathematics", "Elementary Mathematics", "Informatics".

From 2002-2003, 10 teachers and 1 senior laboratory assistant have been working at the department. Two of them are associate professors, 2 persons are Ph.D. senior teacher, 3 senior teachers, 3 teachers, 1 senior laboratory assistant.

From the 2004-2005 academic year, she worked as a department of "Mathematics and Informatics" department. TE100200 specialty "Informatics" has been given to the department, so the department has started to function as a re-qualification chair.

Since 2010-2011 academic year, the name of the department was named "Mathematics and computer sciences" because of the qualification and the name of specialty (050509 Computer Science) in accordance with the State Standard of Higher Qualification Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In accordance with the temporary statute of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 11.09.2008 № 1059 from the academic year 2011-2012 was carried out by the educational credit system.

In accordance with the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mingachevir Polytechnic Institute continues its activity within the faculty of "Pedagogical" by the corresponding order of the rector of the university, as reorganized "Mathematics and Computer Science" and later "Mathematics" in connection with the establishment of Mingachevir State University.

During the period of his activity, he defended his scientific research work in 2 PhDs (QTKalisov, SMMustafayev), 2 PhD in technical sciences (AAAliyeva, AMIsmayilova), 1 PhD in Mathematics (MFIsmayilova ) has received the title of the science degree.

By the order of the rector of the university, since 2016, the Department of "Information Technology" has been integrated with the Department of "Mathematics" with the following specialties:

- Computer science

- Mathematics and Informatics Teaching

- Mathematics teacher

- Information technology and systems engineering

- Information technologies

From September, 2018, by the corresponding order of the rector of the university, the department of "Mathematics" has been separated from the Department of "Information Technology" and has started to function as a new chair.

Currently, 19 professors and teachers and 2 laboratory assistants work at the department. 7 of them are associate professors, 6 senior teachers, 4 teachers and 2 laboratory assistants. There are currently 25 bachelor's degrees, 18 undergraduate degrees.

At the department it is planned to study the problems of research work for 2016-2020 for the development of software for the enterprise, management, organization and other objects of mathematical models of approximate computational methods (issues), economic (issues).

 

2. Guidance (brief information about the head of the department)

Mustafayev Sahib Mustafa oglu graduated from the Azerbaijan State Pedagogical Institute named after V.Lenin (now Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University) in mathematics faculty of Mathematics faculty in 1974. After graduating from the institute in 1974-1991 he worked as a mathematics teacher in the secondary schools of Yevlakh region and then as a school principal, promoting his work.

S.M. Mustafayev has been appointed as deputy director for ideology and education of Mingachevir branch of the Azerbaijan Petrochemical Institute since 1991, and vice-rector for general affairs.

In 1992, he was a dissertant at the Baku State University named after M. Rasulzadeh, in 1998 he defended his dissertation on the theme "Solving a problem of non-local boundary condition for the Helmholts equation" and received a PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences.

She has 44 years of scientific and pedagogical experience. He is the author of 18 published scientific works and 3 textbooks.

Since 2005 she is the assistant professor of the department. S.Mustafaev has been heading the chair since December 2002.

 

3. About specialty

The first specialty of the department is 050509 "Computer Science" approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 12, 2009 No 08. The regulatory duration of the educational program is 4 years. Graduate degree in Computer Science is a bachelor's degree in higher education. Undergraduate Bachelor's Degree is prepared to study professionally in the fields of specialization and vocational training as well as study in magistracy on specialty. As the main areas of the bachelor's professional activity, any production areas, organizations, offices, enterprises, associations, etc., which comply with the profession and degree of professionalism regardless of their form of ownership and subordination, and at the same time adhering to the existing rules in different educational institutions (scientific and pedagogical activity in the higher education institution) except for areas that are not

The bachelor must know the events that take place in different periods in Azerbaijan, their origins, social and political events, historical figures and their activities, to express their attitude to all past events, to analyze global events and changes in history. The bachelor must be able to organize their work on the same basis, to use computer techniques to collect, process and maintain data in the professional activity.

At present under the subdepartment there are 050105 "Mathematics and Informatics Teacher" and 050106 "Mathematics Teacher" specialties at the bachelor degree.

In addition to the bachelor's degree in the department, the mentioned specialties are approved at the master's level 060105 "Mathematics Teacher" and 060113 "Informatics Teacher", approved by the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated January 12, 2009 on the specialties 2016/2017.
