On March 6, 2026, an academic-practical seminar titled \u201cExpanding the Scope of the Fight Against Drug Addiction and Illegal Drug Trafficking\u201d was organized at Mingachevir State University. The event aimed to strengthen awareness activities in combating drug addiction, promote a healthy lifestyle among young people, and increase legal awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The opening speech of the seminar was delivered by the legal advisor of MSU, Polad Atayev. He spoke about the serious social threats posed by drug addiction and emphasized the importance of expanding anti-drug advocacy among youth and students. He noted that the fight against illegal drug trafficking requires not only the efforts of law enforcement agencies but also the joint efforts of educational institutions and all members of society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Within the framework of the seminar, several presentations were delivered. Polad Atayev gave a speech on expanding anti-drug advocacy among teenagers and students, highlighting the role of awareness activities. Huseyn Asgarov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Humanities at MSU and Doctor of Philosophy in Law, provided information about the main directions of the State Program for 2025\u20132030 on combating the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances, and their precursors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Eldar Mustafayev, a narcologist at the Mingachevir Interdistrict Narcological Dispensary, addressed the social and medical aspects of drug addiction and emphasized the importance of family involvement and parental responsibility in preventing addiction. Gultekin Knyazova, a lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of MSU, highlighted that willpower and motivation are among the key factors in combating drug addiction and spoke about awareness activities promoting a healthy lifestyle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the event, discussions were held on the topic, participants\u2019 questions were answered, and a video material reflecting the consequences of drug addiction was presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted that Mingachevir State University regularly organizes awareness events, seminars, and meetings aimed at promoting a healthy lifestyle among young people and preventing drug addiction and other harmful habits.
