{"id":93401,"date":"2026-05-04T17:52:46","date_gmt":"2026-05-04T14:52:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mdu.edu.az\/?p=93401"},"modified":"2026-05-04T17:52:46","modified_gmt":"2026-05-04T14:52:46","slug":"conference-103-04-05-2026","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mdu.edu.az\/en\/conference-103-04-05-2026\/","title":{"rendered":"A conference titled \u201cThe Architect of Modern Azerbaijani Statehood\u201d was held at Mingachevir State University"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On May 4, 2026, a conference titled \u201cThe Architect of Modern Azerbaijani Statehood\u201d was held in Mingachevir within the framework of the project \u201cWe Study the Legacy of Heydar Aliyev,\u201d jointly organized by the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP), the Mingachevir City Executive Authority, and Mingachevir State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>First, participants visited the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, laid flowers in front of it, and paid tribute to his cherished memory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The conference began with the performance of the National Anthem, followed by a one-minute silence in memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>After the screening of a video dedicated to the rich and honorable life of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, opening speeches were delivered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Opening the event, the Head of the Mingachevir City Executive Authority, Ilham Ismayilov, noted that the National Leader Heydar Aliyev was the architect and founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state. He emphasized that the ideological line defined by the Great Leader serves as a guarantee for the country\u2019s bright future, describing his enduring ideas as a long-term strategy shaping Azerbaijan\u2019s past, present, and future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ismayilov stated that a powerful Azerbaijan with fully ensured territorial integrity and sovereignty is a real embodiment of the Great Leader\u2019s aspirations. He also highlighted that this political course is successfully continued by President Ilham Aliyev, resulting in Azerbaijan achieving historic successes and transforming into a strong state. He underlined the importance of the project and spoke about the significance of young people deeply studying the political legacy of the National Leader.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Rector of Mingachevir State University, Anar Eminov, noted that the period of revival in Azerbaijan\u2014characterized by progress in socio-political and socio-economic spheres and democratic state-building\u2014is associated with the name of Heydar Aliyev. He emphasized that the attention and care shown by the Great Leader to science and education continue to yield positive results today and play a crucial role in the comprehensive development of modern independent Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her speech, Deputy Chair of the YAP Veterans Council and Deputy Chair of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, Sadaqat Gahramanova, stated that the historical services of Heydar Aliyev to the Azerbaijani people and state encompass all stages of his activity. She highlighted that during his leadership, significant steps were taken to improve public welfare, ensure comprehensive development, and implement important state-building initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She added that the rich political and statehood legacy of the National Leader created a strong foundation for enhancing the role of women in society, ensuring gender equality, and expanding women\u2019s participation in socio-political life. Women\u2019s activity in public administration, education, and other sectors has significantly increased.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gahramanova emphasized the importance of the younger generation\u2019s commitment to national and moral values and their formation as responsible citizens, calling on young people to study statehood traditions deeply, demonstrate active civic engagement, and participate actively in the country\u2019s future development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairman of the YAP Mingachevir City Organization, Bakhtiyar Mustafayev, noted that the ideas of Heydar Aliyev serve as the main ideological direction of the Party\u2019s activities and that thousands of its members actively contribute to preserving and promoting this political legacy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then, within the framework of the conference, a panel session was held under the moderation of Fiduma Huseynova, a member of the YAP Veterans Council and an Honored Teacher, where reports were presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Member of the YAP Veterans Council, Ali Hasanov, emphasized that Heydar Aliyev laid the foundations ensuring sustainable development in public administration and that the country\u2019s current development model has been shaped based on his political course. He also noted that strengthening national unity and public solidarity remains a priority of state policy and highlighted the importance of such events for exchanging ideas and sharing experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Chairman of the Milli Majlis Committee on Legal Policy and State Building, Ali Huseynli, stated that the traditions of building a legal, secular, and democratic state established by the National Leader continue to be a priority direction today. He noted that reforms in the legal system contribute to making public administration more flexible and efficient, and legislative reforms are being implemented consistently in line with new challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Member of Parliament Aydin Mirzazade emphasized that the ideological foundation of modern Azerbaijan is based on the rich political legacy of Heydar Aliyev. He highlighted the importance of this legacy in strengthening statehood principles, protecting national interests, and ensuring sustainable development. He also noted that the socio-political activity, education, and awareness of young people play a crucial role in societal development and that their initiatives are supported by the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Lecturer of Mingachevir State University, Khadija Suleymanli, stated that education policy was modernized under the initiative of Heydar Aliyev and that significant steps were taken for its development. She noted that higher education institutions are key centers for developing knowledge and skills, emphasizing that improving the quality of education, engaging students in scientific activities, and applying innovative approaches are among the main priorities in this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In her closing remarks, Deputy Chair of the State Committee, Sadaqat Gahramanova, emphasized that the rich statehood legacy of Heydar Aliyev is a fundamental pillar of Azerbaijani statehood, underlined the importance of the ideas expressed, and highlighted the educational role of such initiatives as well
