A scientific conference titled \u201cThe Azerbaijan Democratic Republic \u2013 The First Parliamentary Republic Model in the East\u201d dedicated to May 28 \u2013 Independence Day was held at Mingachevir State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event began with the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, followed by a minute of silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the Motherland. Afterwards, a video presentation dedicated to the history of Azerbaijan\u2019s independence was screened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Opening the conference with an introductory speech, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation of Mingachevir State University Natavan Namazova emphasized that May 28 \u2013 Independence Day occupies a significant place in the history of Azerbaijani national statehood. It was noted that the establishment of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic, as the first parliamentary republic model in the East, made an important contribution to the formation of democratic governance traditions and laid the ideological foundations of the modern Azerbaijani statehood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the speech, it was highlighted that the rich statehood heritage of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic continues to play an important role in the development strategy and national ideology of independent Azerbaijan today. It was also emphasized that educating the younger generation in the spirit of national statehood traditions, studying historical heritage, and promoting patriotic values are among the key priorities of higher education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then, in accordance with the conference program, scientific reports were presented. Staff members of the Department of Humanities of MSU delivered presentations on various topics: Leyla Babayeva spoke on \u201cThe Role of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in the Formation of Statehood Traditions,\u201d Mirza Javadov on \u201cThe Continuation of May 28 Traditions in Modern Azerbaijani Statehood,\u201d Sama Suleymanova on \u201cStrengthening State Independence during the Ilham Aliyev Era,\u201d Jeyran Valiyeva on \u201cThe Reflection of the Idea of Independence in Azerbaijani Literature,\u201d and Svetlana Balakishiyeva on \u201cThe Azerbaijani Language and National Identity Issues during the ADR Period.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The presentations extensively analyzed the role of the Azerbaijan Democratic Republic in the history of national statehood, the development of independence ideas, the preservation of the native language, issues of national identity, and the continuation of independence traditions in the modern era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The conference continued with an artistic program featuring literary and artistic compositions reflecting the spirit of independence, patriotism, and national-moral values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
