On May 22, 2026, an awareness meeting on \u201cSay No to Drug Addiction!\u201d was held at Mingachevir State University for students of higher, secondary specialized, and vocational education institutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event, organized in the assembly hall of MSU\u2019s main academic building, was held in accordance with the tasks arising from the \u201cState Program for 2025\u20132030 on Combating the Illegal Trafficking of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Their Precursors, and Drug Addiction.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The main purpose of the awareness meeting was to promote a healthy lifestyle among young people, increase students\u2019 awareness of the harmful effects of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances on human health, social life, and future development prospects, as well as to strengthen public sensitivity against harmful habits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was moderated by Nihad Khalilov, representative of the Azerbaijan Student Youth Organizations\u2019 Union.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Natavan Namazova, Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation at Mingachevir State University; Emil Yusibov, employee of the Youth Foundation of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Shahin Ismayilov, employee of the permanent Working Group of the State Commission on Combating Drug Addiction and Illicit Drug Trafficking of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Shahin Gahramanov, Deputy Head of the Western Regional Department of the Main Drug Control Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs; Fidan Atakhanli, representative of the Baku City Narcological Center; Gudrat Safarov, representative of the Azerbaijan National Anti-Doping Agency; and Eldar Mustafayev, narcologist of the Mingachevir Narcological Dispensary under the Ministry of Health, delivered speeches at the meeting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The speakers emphasized that the fight against the illegal trafficking of narcotic drugs and drug addiction is one of the important directions of state policy. It was noted that strengthening preventive awareness activities among young people, promoting a healthy and safe lifestyle, identifying risk groups in a timely manner, and increasing society\u2019s shared responsibility in this area are of particular importance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the event, detailed information was provided on the destructive effects of narcotic drugs on the human body, psychological health, and social relations; the individual and social consequences of drug addiction; liability measures stipulated by legislation; the risks caused by doping use; and the role of families, educational institutions, and public organizations in preventing addiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
As part of the awareness meeting, students\u2019 questions on the topic were answered, and the importance of forming young people on the basis of healthy thinking, responsible choices, and social activity was highlighted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end, it was noted that Mingachevir State University will continue its activities aimed at encouraging students to adopt a healthy, safe, and responsible lifestyle, strengthening awareness-raising efforts against harmful habits, and supporting initiatives that serve the social well-being of young people.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
