A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between Mingachevir State University (MSU) and Mingachevir Thermal Power Plant (TPP).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The main purpose of the memorandum is to establish joint cooperation in the areas of wastewater treatment, sustainable management of water resources, identification of the activity directions of the Regional Water Excellence and Resilience Laboratory, as well as the organization of industrial training and internship opportunities for students.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Within the framework of the signed memorandum, the parties will carry out joint activities aimed at strengthening the region\u2019s water security, ensuring the efficient use of water resources, studying waste and wastewater treatment technologies, enhancing environmental sustainability, and applying modern water management solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the key areas of cooperation is the development of operational mechanisms for the Regional Water Excellence and Resilience Laboratory, which is planned to be established at MSU. The laboratory is expected to become an important platform for studying regional water-related challenges, developing innovative solutions, expanding scientific research activities, and improving students\u2019 practical skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to the memorandum, the organization of industrial internships for university students at the TPP, the involvement of the plant\u2019s specialists in teaching and research activities, the implementation of joint research projects, and the exchange of knowledge on modern technologies are envisaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted that this initiative is one of the most large-scale cooperation projects implemented at Mingachevir State University in the fields of water resources management and wastewater treatment. At the same time, it holds special significance as one of the first systematic university\u2013industry cooperation models among regional universities covering the areas of water sustainability, water security, and wastewater management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The memorandum serves the university\u2019s sustainable development goals, particularly its strategic priorities related to clean water and sanitation, climate action, sustainable cities and communities, as well as industry and innovation. As a result of this cooperation, new opportunities will be created both to improve the quality of scientific research and to equip students with practical knowledge and skills aligned with the needs of the labor market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
