Faculty members of the Department of Foreign Languages at Mingachevir State University (MSU)\u2014Khayala Abdullayeva, Shahnaz Mahishzade, and Khadija Aliyeva\u2014participated in the English Language Teachers Conference: Strategies to Enliven Textbooks and Classrooms<\/em>, an international scientific and methodological conference organized by Western Caspian University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Held on 31 January 2026<\/strong>, the conference served as an important platform for sharing best practices in English language teaching, with a particular focus on contemporary pedagogical approaches, innovative teaching methodologies, and the development of student-centered learning environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference program featured presentations and discussions on a wide range of current topics, including adapting textbooks to develop listening, reading, and critical thinking skills, using authentic materials in language teaching, implementing both technology-enhanced and technology-free instructional strategies, game-based learning, the flipped classroom approach, peer learning, and creating interactive classroom environments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Particular interest was generated by presentations delivered by Jordan Brown, Kubra Salmanova, Sarah Howe, Vusala Hasanova, John Jordan, Heidi DeMello, Michael Vessio, Jennifer Tuman, Elvira Shakhverdieva, and Ashanti Lee. Their presentations provided valuable insights into enriching teachers’ methodological knowledge, improving the effectiveness of classroom instruction, and increasing student engagement in the learning process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The knowledge and experience gained during the conference are expected to contribute significantly to enhancing the quality of English language teaching at Mingachevir State University, expanding the implementation of innovative and interactive teaching methods, and supporting the continuous professional development of the University’s academic staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
