An awareness-raising training titled \u201cProtection and Sustainable Management of Water Ecosystems\u201d was organized by the Department of Physics and Ecology of Mingachevir State University. The training, delivered by the department\u2019s lecturer Shabnam Islamova, took place at the Mingachevir Youth House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event was attended by representatives of the city community, school principals, students, as well as staff members of the Mingachevir City Water Supply and Sewerage Department. The main objective of the training was to ensure the protection of water resources, prevent the pollution of water bodies, and enhance the environmental responsibility of society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In her presentation, Shabnam Islamova emphasized the crucial role of water ecosystems in preserving biodiversity, maintaining climate balance, and supporting socio-economic well-being. It was noted that rivers, lakes, and reservoirs are not only sources of water but also habitats for thousands of living species.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Particular attention was drawn to the importance of protecting strategically significant regional water bodies such as the Kura River and the Mingachevir Reservoir. It was highlighted that industrial and domestic waste, excessive use of pesticides and fertilizers in agriculture, as well as climate change, pose serious threats to water ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Within the framework of the training, detailed explanations were provided in the following areas:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Interactive discussions were held with the participation of students, and questions regarding the impact of water pollution on living organisms and human health were thoroughly addressed. Representatives of the Mingachevir City Water Supply and Sewerage Department also provided information on measures implemented at the local level and future plans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of the training, it was emphasized that the protection of water ecosystems is not only the responsibility of state institutions but also the duty of every citizen. Small steps such as saving water, proper waste management, and responsible behavior toward nature can lead to long-term and sustainable results.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted that such initiatives implemented at Mingachevir State University contribute to strengthening environmental security, ensuring the sustainable management of water resources, and fostering a culture of responsible environmental awareness in society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
