On December 05, 2025, a training session titled \u201cLabour Legislation and Workers\u2019 Rights\u201d was organized at Mingachevir State University by the Department of Humanities with the aim of increasing students\u2019 legal awareness. The training was conducted by Huseyn Asgarov, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Humanities and PhD in Law. Students from various academic programs of the university participated in the event and gained information on current issues related to labour rights.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the training, the legal foundations of labour relations, the main principles of labour legislation, and the regulation of legal relations between employees and employers were explained in detail. In his speech, Huseyn Asgarov emphasized that in today\u2019s labour market it is extremely important for young people to be aware of their rights and responsibilities. In this context, students were provided with detailed information about the procedures for concluding employment contracts, types of employment contracts, legal procedures required during recruitment, and the importance of formalizing labour relations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Within the framework of the training, participants were also informed about the regulation of working hours and rest periods, leave rights, rules for payment of wages, social protection mechanisms for employees, as well as occupational safety and labour protection issues in workplaces. In addition, comprehensive explanations were provided regarding the legal resolution of labour disputes, mechanisms for protecting workers\u2019 rights, and the role of state institutions in this field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The training was conducted in an interactive discussion format, allowing students to ask questions about real-life situations they might face in labour relations and exchange views on issues of interest to them. The analysis of practical examples and real cases from labour relations presented by the lecturer helped students better understand the topic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of the event, it was emphasized that such awareness-raising trainings play an important role in improving students\u2019 legal knowledge, helping them properly build labour relations in their future professional activities, and effectively defend their rights.
