Mingachevir State University has organized the \u201cGreenCover Startup Challenge\u201d to promote innovative solutions for ensuring environmental sustainability, protecting soil and vegetation cover, and increasing agricultural productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event, jointly organized by the Departments of Physics and Ecology, Mechanics, and the Lifelong Learning School, stood out as a significant platform within the university\u2019s innovation ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The main objective of the challenge was to foster innovative and systematic approaches to address pressing issues such as the impact of climate change on soil cover, accelerated erosion processes, biodiversity loss, and declining agricultural productivity. Participants developed comprehensive startup models that considered not only technological aspects but also ecological and economic balance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The projects mainly covered areas such as smart agrotechnologies, real-time soil health monitoring, satellite- and sensor-based vegetation tracking systems, engineering solutions to prevent erosion, microbiological fertilization approaches, and digital platforms aimed at optimizing carbon balance. While developing their ideas, participants prioritized both ecosystem sustainability and economic efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the event, teams went through intensive research, idea incubation, and prototyping stages, developing startup concepts tailored to real agricultural challenges. This process contributed to strengthening their analytical thinking and integrating engineering approaches with entrepreneurial mindset. In particular, structuring ideas based on the \u201cproblem\u2013solution\u2013impact\u201d model enhanced the practical value of the projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the final stage, startup projects were presented to a jury panel. The evaluation was based on criteria such as depth of innovation, environmental impact, economic sustainability, applicability, and long-term potential. Selected projects were recognized as promising initiatives and provided with recommendations for further development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
