On May 13, 2026, a scientific-practical event on the topic \u201cGreen Energy Systems and Climate Resilience: LCA, Carbon Footprint, and Sustainable Policy Strategies\u201d was organized by the Institute of Sustainable Energy and Regional Development Research of Mingachevir State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event, held at the Training Center of \u201cAzerbaijan TPP\u201d LLC, was attended by representatives of the Mingachevir City Municipality, the Housing and Communal Services Production Union, \u201cGreen Blue\u201d LLC, Acting Director of the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development of Azerbaijan Technical University Nicat Huseynov, as well as the university\u2019s academic staff, researchers, and field experts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Opening the event with an introductory speech, Associate Professor Ruhiyya Huseynova, Director of the Institute of Sustainable Energy and Regional Development Research of MSU, highlighted the responsibility of higher education institutions in strengthening Azerbaijan\u2019s regional leadership in the fields of digital economy and green energy in the modern era. She emphasized the importance of expanding scientific research in climate resilience and carbon footprint reduction, as well as forming sustainable energy policies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following the opening speech, presentations were delivered according to the program. Director of \u201cAzerbaijan TPP\u201d LLC, Associate Professor Tahmasib Huseynov, presented on the topic \u201cSmart Grids, Artificial Intelligence-Based Energy Optimization, and Carbon Emissions.\u201d The presentation provided detailed information on the development of smart energy systems, the application of AI-based technologies, and models for reducing carbon emissions in energy production.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then, Acting Director of the Institute of Energy and Sustainable Development of Azerbaijan Technical University, Nicat Huseynov, delivered a presentation titled \u201cPost-COP31 Climate Commitments, NDCs, and Environmental Risks in the Energy Sector,\u201d discussing international climate commitments and trends in managing environmental risks in the energy sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Head of the Energy Department at MSU, Associate Professor Kamala Eyyubova, spoke on \u201cIntegration of Renewable Energy Sources with Digital Technologies on the Path to Carbon Neutrality: A Circular Economy Model,\u201d highlighting the strategic importance of digital transformation of renewable energy and the application of circular economy models.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Deputy Director of \u201cGreen BLUE\u201d LLC, Elvir Hacizadeh, presented on \u201cEnvironmental Footprints of Hydropower, Solar, and Wind Energy: Life Cycle Assessment,\u201d sharing insights on the environmental impacts of alternative energy technologies and mechanisms for life cycle assessment of the green energy ecosystem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the event, extensive discussions were held on modern approaches to the development of green energy systems, reduction of carbon footprint, climate resilience, and sustainable development. Participants\u2019 questions were also addressed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
