The celebration of Science Day in Azerbaijan is of great importance in terms of increasing attention to the activities of scientists and researchers, appreciating scientific achievements, supporting the development of a new generation of researchers, strengthening scientific awareness, and identifying future tasks in this field. This significant day also serves as a reflection of the scientific activities carried out in academic and higher education institutions before society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The establishment of March 27 as \u201cScience Day\u201d in the Republic of Azerbaijan is a clear example of the state\u2019s high attention and support for science. According to the decree signed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan on April 9, 2018, this day is celebrated on March 27 in connection with the establishment of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences in 1945. This decision reflects the high value placed on science and the work of scientists by the country\u2019s leadership.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Many countries around the world also attach special importance to science. In accordance with the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly, November 10 is celebrated as the World Science Day for Peace and Development. In addition, national science days and weeks are organized in various countries to promote scientific development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Throughout its more than 80 years of activity, the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences has played an important role in the socio-economic and cultural-spiritual development of the country. Today, Azerbaijani scientists are successfully represented in prestigious international scientific databases such as \u201cWeb of Science\u201d and \u201cScopus,\u201d increasing the scientific reputation of the country through high citation indicators. The opportunities created by the state enable young researchers to gain international experience and support the integration of Azerbaijani science into the global scientific community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Institutional reforms implemented in recent years have also made significant contributions to the development of science. The establishment of the Ministry of Science and Education in 2022 and the launch of the State Agency for Science and Higher Education under the ministry laid the foundation for a new stage in the management of scientific activity. The state\u2019s continuous support for science and the purposeful reforms being implemented further accelerate the development of Azerbaijani science.
