An awareness-raising event dedicated to March 1 \u2013 World Civil Defense Day was organized at Mingachevir State University by the Department of Mechanics and the Civil Defense Headquarters. The event, held in the university courtyard, was attended by the university\u2019s staff members, students, and master\u2019s degree candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Opening the event with an introductory speech, Mahir Ismayilov, Head of the Department of Mechanics, spoke about the significance of World Civil Defense Day and emphasized the importance of increasing the preparedness of the population, especially young people, for emergency situations. He noted that awareness-raising activities play a vital role in protecting human life, ensuring public health, and creating a safe environment. According to him, proper risk assessment and the development of rapid response skills are key factors in preventing losses during emergencies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ilham Mammadov, Head of the Civil Defense Headquarters of the university and lecturer at the Department of Mechanics, provided detailed information on the principles of organizing civil defense activities, emergency preparedness mechanisms, and the proper use of relevant equipment and tools. He highlighted the correct application of personal protective equipment, evacuation procedures, initial response principles, and the importance of coordination during emergencies. It was noted that preventive measures and systematic preparedness are essential for ensuring human safety and strengthening social resilience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Within the framework of the event, students were once again reminded of the importance of remaining calm, responsible, and responsive during emergencies, and it was emphasized that improving their knowledge and skills in this field is of strategic importance for modern society. Participants particularly stressed the importance of practical knowledge in terms of everyday life and public safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It should be noted that March 1 is observed annually around the world as World Civil Defense Day.
