On May 21, 2026, the 21st Scientific Conference of the Student Scientific Society was held at Mingachevir State University (MSU) within the framework of the \u201cYear of Urban Planning and Architecture.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event began with a one-minute silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and all martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, followed by the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the opening ceremony, MSU Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Natavan Namazova, delivered the opening remarks. She emphasized that broad opportunities have recently been created at MSU to engage students more actively in scientific research activities. She also highlighted the importance of scientific events in revealing and developing the scientific potential of students and master\u2019s degree candidates, and spoke about the large-scale initiatives implemented by the university in this direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Following detailed information about the topics of the scientific research to be presented, students delivered their reports.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the Faculty of Economics and Management, Faryad Seyidahmadov presented a report on \u201cCity Branding and the Role of Marketing Strategies in Urban Planning Processes\u201d (Scientific Supervisor: Tarana Aliyeva), Farid Mehdizade delivered a presentation on \u201cUrban Planning and Economic Revitalization Models in Azerbaijan\u2019s Liberated Territories\u201d (Scientific Supervisor: Ayten Nadirova), and Anar Ismayilov presented \u201cShusha as a Rare Jewel of Rich Urban Planning Culture\u201d (Scientific Supervisor: Gunash Shafagatov).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the Faculty of Engineering, Fatima Aliyeva delivered a report on \u201cClimate Change and Modern Architecture: Adaptation and Development Prospects\u201d (Scientific Supervisor: Associate Professor Parvana Safarova), Ravana Hidanova presented \u201cContemporary Challenges in Architecture and Urban Planning and Sustainable Development Directions\u201d (Scientific Supervisor: Mahammad Shoyubov), and Elvin Mahmudov delivered a report on \u201cAn Intelligent System for Real-Time Evaluation of Engine Oil Quality\u201d (Scientific Supervisor: Associate Professor Sabuhi Gahramanov).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
From the Faculty of Pedagogy, Nurlana Mirabova presented \u201cThe First Turkology Congress \u2013 100 Years: Shared Scientific Heritage and Contemporary Challenges\u201d (Scientific Supervisor: Matanat Yusibova), Nuray Mehdizade delivered a report on \u201cThe Beginning of a New Stage in Azerbaijani Literature: The First Turkology Congress of 1926\u201d (Scientific Supervisor: Parvin Huseynova), and Malak Nabizada presented \u201cFundamental Principles of Combination Theory\u201d (Scientific Supervisor: Rima Mammadova).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The presentations, which attracted great interest from the academic staff and students, were followed by extensive discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the scientific conference, the students\u2019 strong interest in research related to urban planning, architecture, and the rich material-cultural heritage created by the Azerbaijani people throughout history was highly appreciated. It was emphasized that the magnificent monuments built over centuries reflect the creativity and national heritage of the Azerbaijani people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of the conference, Gunash Shafagatov, Chairperson of the Student Scientific Society of Mingachevir State University, noted that remarkable achievements had emerged as a result of the close integration between education and science. Highlighting the favorable academic environment created at MSU, he emphasized that students have acquired strong scientific skills and, through their development, contribute positively to their surrounding environment. He underlined the importance of increasing efforts for the advancement of science, stating:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
