On January 19, 2026, a round table dedicated to the 36th anniversary of the January 20 Tragedy titled \u201cJanuary 20 Is an Unforgettable Date for the Azerbaijani People\u201d was organized by the Lifelong Learning School and the Student Youth Organization of Mingachevir State University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The event began with a one-minute silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of Azerbaijani lands, followed by the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Afterwards, a video dedicated to the January 20 Tragedy was screened.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Opening the event with an introductory speech, Vafa Maharramova, Director of the Lifelong Learning School, stated that the January 20 events were a significant turning point in the Azerbaijani people\u2019s struggle for freedom and emphasized that the memory of the martyrs is always commemorated with deep respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Then, in accordance with the program of the round table, discussions were held regarding the January 20 Tragedy. Advisor on the Organization and Management of the Educational Process Ceyhun Mahmudov, lecturer of the Department of Humanities Leyla Babayeva, and MSU student Ramil Marzili delivered speeches about the historical and political significance of the January 20 Tragedy and its place in the heroic history of the Azerbaijani people. It was noted that the martyrs of January 20 symbolize the Azerbaijani people\u2019s will for freedom and independence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The speakers also emphasized the importance of educating the younger generation in the spirit of patriotism and highlighted the significance of continuously promoting the truths about January 20.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the end of the event, the memory of the martyrs of January 20 was once again honored with deep respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
