A special artistic event dedicated to December 3 \u2013 International Day of Persons with Disabilities was organized at Mingachevir State University (MSU). The event, organized by the Mingachevir Child and Family Support Center, was dedicated to the memory of the center\u2019s founder, prominent social project leader, philanthropist, and public figure Mehman Karimov.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the event, the memory of Mehman Karimov was honored with a one-minute silence, and a video dedicated to his life and activities was presented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the opening ceremony, the Rector of MSU Anar Eminov, Chairman of the Mingachevir City Organization of the New Azerbaijan Party Bakhtiyar Mustafayev, Chairman of Mingachevir Municipality Anar Ismayilov, and Head of the Mingachevir City Education Sector Sevinc Hasanova delivered speeches emphasizing the state policy aimed at the integration of persons with disabilities into society, improving their social welfare, and creating an inclusive environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was noted that December 3 was established by the resolution of the United Nations General Assembly in 1992 as the \u201cInternational Day of Persons with Disabilities\u201d with the aim of increasing public awareness of disability issues and protecting the rights of persons with disabilities. It was also emphasized that the foundation of large-scale measures implemented in Azerbaijan in the field of social protection of persons with disabilities was laid by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and this policy is successfully continued today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Afterwards, the artistic part of the event began. Children with disabilities performed theatrical scenes, musical performances, poems, and dance compositions.
