The conference is jointly organized by Nakhchivan State University and Mingachevir State University in partnership with Gumushane University, Tashkent State University of Economics, Azerbaijan Tourism and Management University, Sz\u00e9chenyi Istv\u00e1n University, as well as Karadeniz Technical University, Pamukkale University, Akdeniz University, Ankara Hac\u0131 Bayram Veli University, Ad\u0131yaman University, and Bayburt University.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The main objective of the international conference is to discuss contemporary scientific research in the fields of cultural heritage preservation and sustainable tourism development, expand the use of Turkish experience in developing the tourism potential of Nakhchivan and Mingachevir, promote academic exchange, share innovative approaches in this direction, and further strengthen international scientific cooperation. In addition to being dedicated to the 900th anniversary of Ajami Nakhchivani, the conference holds significant importance in terms of promoting, preserving, and transmitting the common cultural heritage values of the Turkic world to future generations on a scientific basis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One day prior to the conference, the delegation of Mingachevir State University became closely acquainted with the tourism potential of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, its rich cultural heritage, historical monuments, natural resources, and strategic tourism destinations of the region. During the visit, guests were presented with comprehensive information reflecting Nakhchivan\u2019s ancient history, cultural richness, and tourism prospects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The international conference, held at the Congress Hall of Nakhchivan State University, brought together academic and administrative staff, professors, researchers, and students of Mingachevir State University and Nakhchivan State University, as well as representatives of partner institutions, and local and international scholars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Before the conference, flowers were laid in front of the monument of National Leader Heydar Aliyev erected in the city of Nakhchivan, and his cherished memory was honored with deep respect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Afterward, participants visited exhibitions featuring handicrafts created by university staff and students, along with workshop-classrooms located within the university campus and educational buildings. During the visit, guests became familiar with the university\u2019s educational environment, material and technical facilities, and students\u2019 creative potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The conference began with a one-minute silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the sovereignty of Azerbaijan. This was followed by the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Opening the conference with an introductory speech, Rector of Nakhchivan State University Elbrus Isayev emphasized the special significance of holding such a prestigious international scientific platform in Nakhchivan. He noted that Nakhchivan has historically been one of the major cultural centers of Turkic-Islamic civilization and that the legacy of personalities such as Ajami Nakhchivani, who left a profound mark on world architectural history, reflects the rich scientific and cultural potential of this land. The rector highlighted that the conference would serve as an important platform for preserving cultural heritage, promoting sustainable tourism development, and expanding scientific cooperation. Elbrus Isayev also expressed gratitude to partner universities, participating scholars, and all institutions involved in the joint organization of the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his speech, Rector of Mingachevir State University Anar Eminov stated that the conference represents a successful example of scientific cooperation between the two leading higher education institutions of the region. He emphasized that this international event jointly organized by MSU and NSU is not only a scientific discussion platform but also an important initiative for promoting the common cultural values of the Turkic world, shaping sustainable tourism strategies, and deepening international academic integration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Anar Eminov noted that the discussions held within the framework of the conference are of great importance for promoting the rich historical and cultural heritage and tourism opportunities of Mingachevir and Nakhchivan more effectively, applying innovative approaches in this field, and developing sustainable tourism models. He added that studying and implementing T\u00fcrkiye\u2019s successful experience in tourism management, cultural heritage preservation, and effective organization of tourism routes could significantly contribute to increasing the tourism potential of both cities, expanding international tourist flow, and supporting regional economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Highlighting the hospitality, organizational professionalism, and sincere hosting of Nakhchivan State University, Anar Eminov expressed confidence that the joint cooperation would continue with broader projects in the future and wished success to the conference.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the event, Rector of Gumushane University Prof. Dr. Okan Y\u0131ld\u0131z, Rector of Akdeniz University Prof. Dr. \u00d6zlenen \u00d6zkan, Member of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan Ulviyya Hamzayeva, Rector of Pamukkale University Prof. Dr. Mahmud G\u00fcng\u00f6r, and Vice-Rector of Bayburt University Prof. Dr. Yusuf Bilgin highly appreciated the international significance of the conference. Their speeches particularly emphasized the important role of such initiatives in preserving cultural heritage, strengthening sustainable tourism policies, expanding inter-university scientific partnerships, and fostering a common academic cooperation environment within the Turkic world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the official speeches, the conference continued with an artistic program. The musical and cultural performances presented left a strong impression on participants and added special meaning to the event in terms of promoting national and cultural heritage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the second half of the day, the conference proceeded with hybrid-format panel discussions and section meetings. Scientific presentations on cultural heritage preservation, smart tourism, hospitality management, innovation, climate change, environmental sustainability, historical and archaeological heritage, and socio-humanitarian approaches were delivered with the participation of local and international researchers.
