Scientific-practical conference at the University of Tourism and Management
The Republican Scientific-Practical Conference on “Prospects of Creation of Tourism and Recreation Areas in the Republic of Azerbaijan” was held at the Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management. More than 20 higher education institutions, scientific research institutes and representatives of various structures of the republic took part in the conference. Nazim Niftaliyev, the dean of the faculty of Economics and Management at Mingachevir State University, and Jalil Bagirov, the teacher of “Economics” department.
The conference was opened by the rector of the Azerbaijan University of Tourism and Management Ilham Madatov. He said that today tourism in Azerbaijan is one of the key targets for the development of the non-oil sector, turning it into a highly profitable economy, creating efficient, competitive, modern tourism complexes that meet social and environmental requirements, and opening new jobs in this area. Taking into account the necessity of further development of the tourism sector and creation of favorable conditions for tourism activity in the Republic of Azerbaijan, it should be ensured that wide-scale introduction of the natural monuments of our country, as well as the ancient cultural and historical heritage of our country, having a rich geographical landscape, should be used more efficiently. .
Then Elvin Yusifli, responsible representative of Azerbaijan State Tourism Agency made a speech. He gave detailed information about the tasks facing the newly established organization and its activities. The agency has said it wants to work on the development of tourism based on scientific principles.
At the plenary session the lecturer of Ganja State University Arzu Hasanov spoke on the theme “Theoretical -methodological justification of creation and development of Ganja-Gazakh tourism region: cluster policy”, Zaur Imrani, department head of the Institute of Geography of ANAS, “Potential opportunities and regionalization of tourism and recreational resources of the Northern region”.
After the plenary session, the panel continued its work in 3 panels. 25 sections of the section “State regulation of tourism”, 15 sections “Preservation and propagation of national cultural heritage” and 24 “Regional tourism development” section.
Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management at Mingachevir State University Nazim Niftaliyev, Head of the Department of Economics at the Department of Regional Tourism, spoke on the topic of “Development perspectives of tourism industry in the Aran economic region”.
