Healthy lifestyle initiatives are being expanded at Mingachevir State University: Comprehensive medical examinations are being organized for staff.

On February 25, 2026, a new cooperation initiative aimed at protecting the health and improving the social well-being of employees was launched at Mingachevir State University. For this purpose, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation was signed with the Regional Hospital, operating in the city of Mingachevir.

The signed agreement, in line with the university’s new strategy to expand socially oriented activities, предусматривает the protection of employees’ health, the organization of preventive medical examinations, and increased access to high-quality medical services.

The meeting was attended by Elchin Taghiyev, Chairman of the Trade Union Committee of Mingachevir State University; Azad Mirzabeyov, Head of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Department; Gurban Gurbanzade, Deputy Head of the Department for Relations with the Business World and Alumni; and Zarifa Farrukhlu, Protocol Coordinator. Representing Regional Hospital were Director Anar Mammadov; cardiologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences Novruz Hasanov; andrologist, Candidate of Medical Sciences Vagif Huseynov; operator-surgeon, general surgeon Kurtulus Urgur; therapist Nurlan Aliyev; and other physicians.

Within the framework of the agreement, with the organizational support of the Trade Union Committee of Mingachevir State University, 50 university employees will benefit free of charge from a comprehensive preventive medical examination package (full check-up) at Regional Hospital. The examination program includes medical tests and diagnostic services aimed at assessing employees’ overall health condition.

In addition, under the cooperation framework, a 20 percent discount will be applied to medical services provided by Regional Hospital for all employees and students of Mingachevir State University. This opportunity will enable them to access medical services in a more affordable and convenient manner.

The implemented initiative contributes to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 3 – Good Health and Well-Being – of the United Nations. The organization of preventive medical examinations supports early diagnosis and the protection of employees’ health.

At the same time, the established cooperation between the university and the healthcare institution serves as an example of expanding institutional relations within the framework of Sustainable Development Goal 17 – Partnerships for the Goals.

It should be noted that social initiatives aimed at protecting the social welfare and health of employees at Mingachevir State University are planned to continue in the future in accordance with the university’s development strategy.
