The Student Affairs Department operates to organize the official and academic aspects of students’ university life, ensure the management and monitoring of student records, and maintain student information accurately and in accordance with normative documents.
The department bases its activities on the normative-legal acts included in the legislative system of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the instructions of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Charter of Mingachevir State University (MDU), the decisions and directives of the university administration, as well as its own Regulations. Within this framework, the department cooperates with other structural units of MDU, state and local self-government bodies, and other relevant institutions.

- Registration of students, management of document circulation, and other official student records;
- Receiving and reviewing student inquiries regarding their educational rights and obligations;
- Ensuring the storage and security of student information in both electronic and paper formats;
- Monitoring student records and preparing statistical reports in accordance with academic plans and program requirements;
- Coordination of documents related to student examinations, thesis works, and other academic processes;
- Implementation of normative and administrative rules related to student status and ensuring the execution of relevant orders;
- Preparation and updating of student databases;
- Providing reports on student matters to the university administration;
- Protecting student and graduate information and ensuring its management in compliance with normative regulations;
- Conducting student record-keeping in accordance with relevant national and international standards.
