Starting from December 1, 2025, an international-level English Language Olympiad for school students and university students of Mingachevir is being organized through the joint initiative of the International Language Center of Mingachevir State University and ITAC (International Training and Assessment Center), the official representative of the University of Cambridge in Azerbaijan.

As the first Olympiad of its format and scale organized in the region, the event brings together more than 100 school students from Mingachevir and students of MSU. The Olympiad plays a significant role in assessing young people’s knowledge and skills in accordance with international standards, as well as in expanding their academic and personal development opportunities.

The first stage of the Olympiad covers listening and writing skills in a test format. Participants who succeed in this stage will advance to the next stage – the speaking round. This multi-stage assessment model allows for a comprehensive evaluation of participants’ language competencies.

Holding the event in Mingachevir enhances access to international-level assessment opportunities for regional youth, promotes equal educational opportunities, and contributes to the formation of competitive human capital. The Olympiad also serves as an important initiative supporting young people’s integration into a global and sustainable educational environment and preparing them for a knowledge-based future.

The winners and participants of the Olympiad will be awarded certificates and various prizes. Mingachevir State University plans to continue organizing similar international-format Olympiads and Cambridge mock examinations in the region in the future.
