On March 9, 2025, staff members of the Department of Physics and Ecology at Mingachevir State University visited the Mingachevir Scientific-Experimental Base of the Zoology Research Institute under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
During the visit, participants became closely acquainted with the activities of the scientific-experimental base, as well as the research conducted there, particularly studies related to fisheries and fish ecosystems.
Detailed information about the base was provided to students and master’s degree candidates by Head of the Base, Senior Researcher Hijran Isgandarova, and Senior Researcher Shafag Mammadova. It was noted that significant scientific research is carried out at the base on the conservation of fish species inhabiting various water bodies, the study of their biological characteristics, and the maintenance of ecological balance in aquatic ecosystems.
It was emphasized that the main purpose of the visit was to support master’s students majoring in Ecology at Mingachevir State University in identifying research directions for their dissertations related to fisheries and fish ecosystems, as well as to enhance their scientific research skills and practical knowledge.
It was also highlighted that such scientific and practical visits make an important contribution to the future academic development of graduate students, fostering their specialization in the field and enabling them to develop scientific approaches to solving current environmental challenges.
