An awareness event titled “Healthy Steps,” featuring relay races and health-oriented games, was organized at Nursery-Kindergarten No. 16 named after “Aynur” in Mingachevir, on the initiative of Ulviyya Verdiyeva, a lecturer at the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Mingachevir State University.
Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting a healthy lifestyle, the event aimed to encourage healthy habits among children, enhance their physical abilities and coordination, and foster interest in teamwork and social skills.
Opening the event, the head of the institution, Kamila Ilyasova, welcomed the participants and emphasized the importance of such initiatives in supporting children’s healthy development.
Students of the MT23.2 group from Mingachevir State University also took part in the event. During the discussions, the kindergarten methodologist, Shola Isaqova, noted that such activities help children apply their knowledge about health in practice, improve their physical skills, and socialize in an engaging way. Nurse Aytakin Ismayilova highlighted the importance of integrating healthy nutrition and hygiene habits into children’s daily routines.
The event included various physical activities such as relay games, ball exercises, obstacle courses, and the use of “vitamin basket” props. Visual materials on “Healthy Nutrition” and “Sports and Health” were presented, and interactive Q&A sessions were conducted with the children. The event concluded with the entertaining game “Steps Towards Health.”
At the end of the event, several recommendations were put forward to further strengthen healthy lifestyle habits among children, including applying learned behaviors in daily routines, raising parental awareness, and encouraging adults to serve as role models.
It should be noted that such awareness initiatives contribute significantly to strengthening healthy lifestyle habits among children and supporting their physical, social, and emotional development.
