On March 2–4, 2026, the 21st International European Conference on Mathematics, Engineering, Natural and Medical Sciences (MAS) is being held through the joint organization of Mingachevir State University and the Institute of Economic Development and Social Research (IKSAD) of the Republic of Türkiye. The conference, taking place in the university’s assembly hall, brings together the academic and administrative staff of MSU, students and master’s degree candidates, a delegation from IKSAD, as well as representatives of higher education institutions and research centers from various countries, participating both in-person and online.
The conference began with a one-minute silence in memory of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the Republic of Türkiye Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and Türkiye. This was followed by the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Independence March of the Republic of Türkiye.
In his opening remarks, the Rector of Mingachevir State University, Anar Eminov, spoke about the significance of the conference. He emphasized that contemporary scientific research in mathematics, engineering, natural and medical sciences plays a strategic role in the formation of an innovative economy, technological transformation, and the strengthening of human capital. The Rector underlined that the MSU Development Strategy for 2026–2030 identifies the expansion of international scientific cooperation, the promotion of a multidisciplinary research environment, and the strengthening of the university’s position within global academic networks as priority areas.
Anar Eminov noted that hosting the MAS conference at Mingachevir State University makes a substantial contribution to the university’s international scientific integration, knowledge and technology transfer, and the development of a scientific platform aligned with sustainable and innovative development goals. Concluding his speech, he wished the conference every success and expressed confidence that the discussions would yield productive scientific outcomes.
In his address, the President of the IKSAD Institute, Dr. Mustafa Latif Emek, highlighted that the MAS conference has already established itself as an international scientific platform. He noted that such events are of great importance in promoting joint research, facilitating the exchange of scientific knowledge, and integrating young researchers into the international academic environment. Dr. Emek expressed his gratitude to Mingachevir State University for its high-level organization and hospitality and voiced his confidence that scientific cooperation between Azerbaijan and Türkiye will continue to expand in the future.
Following the opening speeches, a plenary session was held. During the session, Aida Mustafayeva, Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies at MSU, delivered a presentation titled “Digital Architecture and the Digital Twin: Global Transformation and Key Challenges of Modern Engineering.” Mehman Rasulov, Associate Professor of the Department of Mathematics, presented on “The Interaction of Continued Fractions with Ford Circles.”
The conference continued with section sessions organized in a hybrid format. Across 11 sections held from March 2 to 4, more than 300 papers and abstracts were presented in mathematics, artificial intelligence, digital transformation, green energy, environmental safety, medical research, and other relevant fields. The presentations were delivered by over 300 researchers and doctoral candidates from 25 countries. More than 85 of the submitted papers and abstracts represent Mingachevir State University. Representatives of universities and research centers from Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Nigeria, the United Kingdom, the United States, Morocco, Algeria, Iran, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, and other countries are participating in the event.
It should be noted that the organization of international scientific conferences at Mingachevir State University once again demonstrates the consistent implementation of strategic initiatives aimed at integrating into the global scientific community, strengthening scientific capacity, and contributing to the sustainable development of society.
