The main speaker of the training, Aziz Azizli, a lecturer of the Department of Energy, spoke about the strategic role of energy security within the national security systems of modern states. He emphasized that energy security is not only about uninterrupted supply of resources but also about ensuring sustainable economic growth with minimal environmental impact.

The training covered the following key areas:

  • Energy security and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the BMT: the relationship between efficient use of energy resources and global development targets;
  • Transition to green energy: the increasing role of renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and hydro in reducing carbon emissions;
  • Innovative technologies: the digitalization of energy systems and the contribution of Smart Grid technologies to sustainable development;
  • Azerbaijan’s energy strategy: the country’s role in international energy security and the prospects of “green energy” zones in liberated territories.

The speaker highlighted that the application of innovations in the energy sector and a deep understanding of global processes by young professionals are essential for ensuring sustainable development.

At the end of the interactive training, students’ questions were answered, and an extensive exchange of views took place. It was noted that such events are an integral part of ongoing efforts at Mingachevir State University to train highly qualified specialists and strengthen university-industry cooperation.
