From May 1 to May 15, 2026, Mingachevir State University (MSU), through its Sports and Health Complex, organized university championships in volleyball and table tennis dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
The competitions were held to promote a healthy lifestyle, increase students’ physical activity, strengthen team spirit, and support the holistic development of young people, in alignment with MSU’s student-centered approach and sustainable development priorities.
The volleyball tournament featured strong and competitive matches among faculty teams. According to the final results, the team of the Faculty of Engineering secured first place. The Faculty of Economics team took second place, while the Faculty of Pedagogy team finished in third place.
In the table tennis championship, 52 students participated, demonstrating a high level of sporting performance and competitive spirit. Kamran Hümbətov achieved first place, Nasir Novruzov secured second place, and Nuran Musayev took third place.
The winners and distinguished participants were congratulated by the university administration and wished continued success in their future endeavors.
MSU will continue expanding sports and health-oriented initiatives, ensuring efficient use of students’ leisure time, and advancing priority areas within its sustainable development strategy.
