A Cooperation Memorandum was signed between Mingachevir State University and Caucasus Geo Survey on the development of cooperation in the fields of science, education, innovation, and the application of modern technologies. The signed document is of great importance in expanding mutually beneficial relations between the parties, promoting joint projects, and enhancing students’ practical knowledge and skills.

The main purpose of the memorandum is to organize joint activities in the areas of Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing technologies, environmental monitoring, water resource management, agriculture, and other related fields, as well as to develop scientific research cooperation and support students’ practical training.

According to the document, the parties intend to cooperate in preparing and implementing joint scientific research projects in GIS and remote sensing, organizing the participation of MDU students in internship and practical training programs, conducting seminars, conferences, forums, training sessions, and masterclasses, and implementing joint initiatives related to ecology, hydrology, agriculture, and land resource research.

At the same time, within the framework of the memorandum, opportunities are envisaged for establishing a joint Laboratory for Geographic Information Systems and Spatial Analysis at MDU, creating a digital spatial data and mapping database for Mingachevir and surrounding regions, and implementing regional projects related to the collection and analysis of data on infrastructure, water resources, land resources, and environmental indicators.

The cooperation document is of particular importance in strengthening university–industry partnerships, integrating modern technologies into the higher education environment, developing the practical skills of students and young researchers, and promoting innovative solutions that can contribute to the socio-economic development of the region.

The memorandum also includes important areas such as the preparation of joint scientific articles, research works, and analytical reports, the organization of experience exchange on modern technologies, and the integration of the university’s academic potential with the company’s practical expertise.
