A training on “Emergency Preparedness for Climate Risks” was organized at Mingachevir State University within the framework of activities on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) initiated by the Department of Mechanics. The training was held in the university’s “Engineering, Civil Defense and Fundamentals of Medical Knowledge” classroom.
The training was conducted by lecturers of the Department of Mechanics, Ilham Mammadov and Alakbar Suleymanov. During their presentations, participants were provided with extensive information about climate change in the 21st century, global warming, flood and mudflow risks, earthquakes, and other natural disasters, as well as methods of protection and preventive measures.
At the same time, the results of research related to improving preparedness for emergencies, early identification of risks, and management of potential hazards were explained.
Within the framework of the training, comprehensive discussions were held with the participants on the topic, their questions were answered, and views were exchanged on preparedness measures for possible future emergencies.
It should be noted that Mingachevir State University regularly organizes awareness events, seminars, and trainings aimed at promoting the Sustainable Development Goals, contributing to strengthening environmental and social responsibility within the university.
