Contribution to the Development of the Artificial Intelligence and Innovation Ecosystem: Opening Ceremony of the “AI-Industry Talent Development – Academy–Industry Innovation Bootcamp” and Scholarship Program Held at Mingachevir State University

On May 7, 2026, the official opening ceremony of the “AI-Industry Talent Development – Academy–Industry Innovation Bootcamp” and Scholarship Program, which holds significant importance for the development of the artificial intelligence and innovation ecosystem in Azerbaijan, was held at Mingachevir State University (MSU).

Implemented within the framework of the strategic partnership established between Mingachevir State University and Holberton School Azerbaijan, the project is being organized for the first time among universities and is dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

Speakers at the opening ceremony emphasized the importance of the program in strengthening cooperation between the higher education system and the real industrial sector, enhancing students’ practical knowledge and skills in the field of artificial intelligence, promoting innovative thinking, and preparing future technology leaders.

It was noted that the project aims to reinforce university–industry collaboration, contribute to the formation of human capital in the context of digital transformation, and equip students with competencies aligned with the modern demands of the labor market.

It was also stated that the Bootcamp phase of the program covers the period from May 7 to May 18, 2026. The first five days of the training will be dedicated to acquiring theoretical knowledge through a дистан learning format. During this stage, participants will receive intensive instruction in both fundamental and applied areas related to artificial intelligence technologies, machine learning algorithms, digital innovation solutions, and modern programming approaches.

In the next phase of the program, participants will apply the theoretical knowledge they have gained in practice by engaging in the development, modeling, and prototyping of innovative projects in teams based on real industry scenarios.

Throughout the training process, the development of participants’ analytical thinking, problem-solving, innovative approach, and teamwork skills has been identified as one of the key priorities.

During the Bootcamp, participants will work in an intensive and practice-oriented learning environment, developing projects focused on the practical application of artificial intelligence algorithms. At the conclusion of the program, the developed projects will be presented and evaluated during the “Demo Day” scheduled for May 19.

It should be noted that such initiatives implemented at Mingachevir State University serve the university’s innovation-oriented development strategy, contribute to strengthening digital skills, and support the advancement of the artificial intelligence ecosystem in Azerbaijan.
