The 1st Mingachevir Book Fair, held in the city of Mingachevir from May 31 to June 1, 2025, jointly organized by the “Azerbaijan Publishing Association” Public Union, the Mingachevir City Municipality, and the Mingachevir City Executive Power, commenced with a festive spirit. The exhibition was dedicated to June 1 – International Children’s Day. 

Head of Mingachevir City Executive Power Ilham Ismayilov, rector of Mingachevir State University Anar Eminov, Chairman of Mingachevir City Municipality Anar Ismayilov, founder and general director of Hedef group of companies Shamil Sadig delivered speeches at the opening ceremony of the exhibition. Speaking about the importance of the event, they emphasized the importance of continuous and large-scale holding of such projects that bring book lovers together and expressed their gratitude to the organizers.

In the artistic part of the event, music and songs were performed interesting compositions were presented. This was followed by a tour of the stands at the exhibition and an introduction to the publishing houses’ products. 

The faculty, students, and graduate students of Mingachevir State University also actively participated in the exhibition. University staff and students visited the book stands, showed great interest in publications from local and well-known publishing houses, and also interacted with the authors.

It should be noted that the 1st Mingachevir Book Fair is both a significant initiative for developing the culture of books and reading in the region and serves to further increase public interest in books, especially among the younger generation. Mingachevir State University considers it a priority to participate in such educational events and contribute to the development of public culture.
