Mingachevir State University (MSU), according to the international ranking results, has been included in the list of the top 10 universities in Azerbaijan. Thus, MSU achieved another major success in the “UI GreenMetric World University Rankings” for 2025. The university ranked 897th globally and 9th among Azerbaijani universities, confirming its consistent commitment to implementing the “green university” concept and its sustainable development strategy. Within this international ranking, universities were evaluated in areas such as education and research, water resource management, transportation, energy, climate, and other sustainability-related criteria.

Compared to 2024, MSU advanced by 31 positions in the global ranking, significantly strengthening its international standing. The university’s overall evaluation score increased from 5040 in the previous year to 5572.5 in 2025, marking an increase of 532.5 points, or approximately 10.5%. This progress is a clear example of the sustainable development of environmental programs, renewed infrastructure, and scientific research potential implemented at MSU.

The high results achieved in these areas demonstrate that MSU has been successfully developing its “green campus” model in practice and that environmental responsibility has become one of the main priorities of the university’s management strategy.

MSU’s inclusion among the TOP 10 universities in the country is an important indicator of the university’s growing reputation in Azerbaijan’s higher education system, its steady rise in international rankings, and its management model aligned with global standards.
