Mingachevir State University (MDU) was represented at the First Rectors’ Forum held to expand cooperation in science and higher education between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The forum, titled “Azerbaijan–Uzbekistan: Priority Directions in the Development of Cooperation in Higher Education,” took place on May 28–29, 2025, in Andijan. MDU was represented by the Coordinator of the International Cooperation Office, Samira Ahmadova.

The forum served as an important platform for strengthening cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan in the fields of science and higher education. In their opening remarks, the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan, Shakhrukh Daliyev, and the Deputy Minister of Science and Education of Azerbaijan, Idris Isayev, emphasized the dynamic development of bilateral cooperation.

Within the framework of the forum, productive discussions were held on key issues such as the establishment of dual degree programs, student and faculty exchanges, joint scientific research, and progress in international rankings. As a result of these meetings, protocols were signed between MDU and leading higher education institutions of Uzbekistan, laying the foundation for new cooperation projects.

Accordingly, cooperation agreements were signed between MDU and Samarkand State University, Andijan State Institute of Foreign Languages, and Tashkent State Pedagogical University.

Under the signed agreements, student and faculty exchanges, joint research activities, and the strengthening of academic ties will be ensured.
