A Memorandum of Cooperation has been signed between Mingachevir State University (MDU) and the Pakistan-Azerbaijan Technology Cooperation Organization (PATCO). The memorandum aims to strengthen university–technology cooperation, implement joint initiatives in the field of digital transformation, and support the development of students’ innovative and technological skills.
According to the document, the parties will cooperate in promoting the application of modern technologies in the higher education environment, encouraging scientific research in the fields of artificial intelligence and data analytics, and expanding university–industry collaboration. Within the framework of the cooperation, the development of laboratory and research initiatives in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data Analytics at MDU is envisaged.
As part of the implementation of the memorandum, the possibility of PATCO becoming one of the resident organizations in the planned TECHNOPARK at MDU’s new campus was also discussed. It was noted that such an initiative could make a significant contribution not only to the development of the information technology sector in the capital city of Baku but also to supporting the growth of the innovation ecosystem in the regions.
During the meeting, the parties also considered the possibility of PATCO supporting the development and modernization of curricula in the fields of Information Security and Information Technologies at MDU. In addition, discussions were held on establishing an academic research team at the university to conduct scientific studies in areas such as data analytics, cybersecurity, and other advanced technological fields.
Furthermore, the possibility of PATCO specialists delivering lectures at Mingachevir State University in the future was also discussed within the framework of the cooperation. It was emphasized that this initiative would expand students’ access to international technological knowledge and professional experience.
The memorandum also covers areas such as encouraging students’ participation in technological projects, organizing joint conferences and seminars, holding innovation competitions and technology-related events, and creating internship and career opportunities for students.
It should be noted that the signed memorandum creates an important cooperation platform aimed at expanding collaboration between the university and the technology sector, supporting the development of the innovation ecosystem in the regions, and enhancing students’ digital skills.
