On November 25, 2025, the Department of Humanities of Mingachevir State University organized a round table titled “The National Academy of Sciences: A Center Transforming Azerbaijan’s Scientific and Intellectual Potential into National Wealth” dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS).
Opening the event with an introductory speech, Head of the Department of Humanities Esmira Jafarova spoke about the significant role of ANAS in the scientific development of the country, the formation of national identity, and the strengthening of intellectual potential. She emphasized that the Academy’s 80 years of activity have made substantial contributions to the gradual development of Azerbaijani science, the emergence of new scientific directions, and the enhancement of the country’s reputation on international scientific platforms.
Afterwards, a video presentation dedicated to the activities of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences was screened.
Then, presentations were delivered in accordance with the round table program. Head of the Science and Innovations Department of MDU Vugar Mustafayev presented a report titled “The Role of ANAS in the Development of Azerbaijani Science: 80 Years of History and a Look into the Future.” Associate Professor of the Department of Humanities Namaz Manafov delivered a presentation titled “Leading Researcher of Linguistic Problems: The Institute of Linguistics of the National Academy of Sciences.” Senior lecturer Parvin Huseynova spoke on “A Scientific Center Guarding Our Literature,” while Vusala Movlayeva delivered a presentation titled “The Abbasgulu Agha Bakikhanov Institute of History and Ethnology of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Serving the Comprehensive Study of Azerbaijani History.”
At the end of the event, participants exchanged views on the topic and particularly emphasized the strategic importance of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences for Azerbaijani science.
