On April 10, 2026, a training session titled “Effective Search Strategies and the Use of Scientific Resources on the EBSCOhost Platform” was organized at Mingachevir State University for academic staff members and researchers.

The training aimed to improve skills in the effective use of scientific information resources, optimize the research process, and expand access opportunities to international scientific databases.

During the event, trainer Sevda Safarova provided participants with detailed information about the functionality, opportunities, and application areas of the EBSCOhost platform in scientific research. She demonstrated practical approaches related to searching, selecting, and using scientific information through the platform.

Within the framework of the training, participants were introduced to basic and advanced search mechanisms in EBSCOhost, the use of Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT), the application of various filters and limiting tools, as well as methods for obtaining more precise and targeted search results. In addition, issues related to checking full-text access opportunities on the platform, identifying appropriate scientific journals, and effectively managing scientific resources were also discussed.

During the interactive training session, participants’ questions were answered, practical explanations based on real examples were provided, and recommendations for organizing scientific activities more effectively were presented.

It should be noted that organizing such training sessions at Mingachevir State University makes a significant contribution to the development of the research environment, the enhancement of academic staff’s skills in using international scientific databases, and the overall improvement of the university’s scientific activities.
