Tourism, Ecology and Science Integration: Memorandum of Understanding Signed Between Mingachevir State University and the Institute of Geography

On May 6, 2026, within the framework of the Republican Scientific Conference titled “Assessment and Improvement of Tourism Potential in Azerbaijan” held at Mingachevir State University, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Mingachevir State University and the Institute of Geography under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The memorandum was signed by the Rector of Mingachevir State University, Anar Eminov, and the Director of the Institute of Geography, Zaur İmrani.

The memorandum, focused on the training of professional specialists in tourism- and ecology-oriented fields, envisages the expansion of university–science cooperation, enhancement of students’ practical knowledge and skills, implementation of joint scientific research projects, and preparation of competitive professionals in line with the demands of the modern labor market.

Within the framework of the memorandum, the parties plan to organize masterclasses, exchange scientific and methodological publications, hold seminars and conferences, create internship opportunities for students, and implement joint initiatives in the fields of tourism, ecology, and geography.

It should be noted that the cooperation document serves to support the science-based development of the region’s tourism and ecological potential, as well as to strengthen joint activities in the direction of sustainable development.
