On April 14, 2026, a delegation from Mingachevir State University visited Gazi University in Ankara as part of an official business trip to the Republic of Türkiye.
The delegation, which included the Director of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies Aidə Mustafayeva, Head of the Department of International Relations and Cooperation Samira Ahmadova, and Associate Professor of the Department of Humanities Asim Mammadov, held meetings with the Rector of Gazi University Prof. Dr. Uğur Ünal, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Serhat Karyeyen, and Dean of the Faculty of Technology Prof. Dr. Musa Atar. During the meeting, the prospects for expanding existing cooperation between the two higher education institutions were broadly discussed.
Within the framework of the meeting, specific issues related to expanding student and academic staff exchange opportunities were discussed, particularly the establishment of dual degree programs in computer engineering and electrical-electronics engineering specialties. In addition, the implementation of joint projects in the fields of artificial intelligence and digital technologies, as well as the expansion of multidisciplinary cooperation, were identified as priority areas by both sides.
At the conclusion of the discussions, a mutual agreement was reached regarding the renewal of the existing memorandum of cooperation between Mingachevir State University and Gazi University. It was noted that the renewed document would make a significant contribution to further strengthening relations in scientific research, innovation, and academic exchange between the two universities.
It was emphasized that the agreements reached during the visit would create new opportunities for both universities and add further value to the development of Azerbaijan–Türkiye higher education cooperation.
