On December 26, 2025, an online masterclass titled “British and Azerbaijani Literary Relations and Translation” was organized by the Faculty of Education of Mingachevir State University with the participation of renowned translator, educator, writer, Doctor of Philological Sciences, and Professor Shahin Khalili.
The event, held via the Microsoft Teams platform, was attended by students majoring in “Foreign Language Teaching” and “Language and Literature Teaching” at the Faculty of Education.
During the masterclass, Professor Shahin Khalili provided detailed information about the history and stages of development of literary relations between British and Azerbaijani literature, the role of translation in the formation of these relations, and the importance of translation in the development of intercultural dialogue. At the same time, the main challenges encountered in the translation of literary texts, as well as issues of adequacy and equivalence, were explained through practical examples.
The online masterclass continued in an interactive format, during which students’ questions related to the topic were answered and extensive discussions were held. The event was of significant importance in enhancing students’ knowledge and skills in the fields of translation and philology, as well as broadening their understanding of international literary relations.
