A startup competition on the topic “Digital Water Quality Monitoring” was organized at Mingachevir State University to promote students’ innovative ideas and support the development of the startup ecosystem. The event played an important role in strengthening the culture of innovation at the university, engaging young people in technology-oriented initiatives, and enhancing their practical skills.
The competition was held with the participation of the university’s Internal Control Department, the Department of Natural Sciences, as well as faculty members and students of the Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Technologies. The main objective of the event was to support students’ innovative ideas, develop their entrepreneurial and technological thinking skills, and demonstrate the impact of technology-based solutions on economic growth.
The teams Ecodrops, BlueTech, KurTech, AquaTeam, Ecoflow, and GreenUniqe participated in the competition with their startup ideas. During their presentations, the teams introduced various business models based on digital technologies, innovative solutions for water quality monitoring, and startup projects supporting socio-economic development. Particular attention was paid to modern approaches such as artificial intelligence, sensor technologies, and real-time data processing.
According to the evaluation of the jury, the winners were determined as follows:
- 1st place – AquaTeam
- 2nd place – GreenUniqe
- 3rd place – BlueTech and KurTech
Within the framework of the competition, students gained valuable experience in innovative thinking, teamwork, and effective project presentation, acquiring essential knowledge and skills for their future entrepreneurial activities.
The event was regarded as an important platform for fostering an innovation-driven environment at the university, promoting startup initiatives, and encouraging youth engagement in technology-based entrepreneurship. It was also emphasized that such initiatives would contribute to the country’s digital transformation processes and accelerate the application of new technological solutions in water resource management.
