Mingachevir State University will host the 1st International Scientific Conference titled “Digital Challenges of the 21st Century: Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Sustainable Energy and Human Capital,” organized within the framework of the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” and dedicated to May 17 – World Telecommunication Day.

The main objective of the conference is to create a scientific discussion platform aligned with Azerbaijan’s digital development priorities, to systematically analyze contemporary technological challenges, and to explore their possible solutions. Key topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, the digital economy, sustainable energy, and human capital development will be at the center of discussions.

The event will bring together representatives of leading universities from Azerbaijan and Türkiye, along with scientists, researchers, and industry experts, who will deliver presentations on a wide range of topics. The conference will be organized into two panels. The first panel will focus on artificial intelligence and digital transformation in the context of sustainable energy, digital economy, and human capital. The second panel will address cybersecurity and sustainable digital development, highlighting emerging challenges and solution approaches.

Presentations will cover current issues such as the future of artificial intelligence technologies, virtual reality, innovative approaches in energy systems, smart city infrastructure, new cybersecurity risks, AI-driven cyberattacks, and the development of digital skills.

The conference will also contribute to the academic analysis of key strategic documents adopted in Azerbaijan, including national strategies on information security and cybersecurity, the digital development concept, the artificial intelligence strategy, and priorities for the development of the digital economy.

The event will serve as an important platform for strengthening university–industry–government cooperation, expanding international scientific integration, and fostering an innovative research environment.

It should be noted that the importance of information security and digital development has been repeatedly emphasized by Ilham Aliyev, highlighting their strategic role in the country’s sustainable development.

The outcomes of the conference are expected to contribute to accelerating digital transformation processes, promoting the adoption of innovative technologies, and enhancing human capital development.
