On May 21, 2026, a drawing competition titled “Cities Built with Colors” was organized at Mingachevir State University Mingachevir Dövlət Universiteti within the framework of the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture” and dedicated to June 1 – International Children’s Day. The event was jointly organized by the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of the university and Secondary School No. 1 of Mingachevir 1 saylı orta məktəb.

The main objective of the competition was to develop children’s creative potential, increase their interest in urban planning and architecture, and provide them with an opportunity to express their visions of future cities through color-based artistic expression.

Students presented their artworks on various themes, demonstrating their creative perspectives. The drawings notably reflected modern urban landscapes, ecological environments, green city concepts, and innovative architectural solutions of the future.

The submitted works were evaluated by a jury, and distinguished participants were awarded diplomas and certificates of appreciation. The event was widely welcomed by participants and made a significant contribution to the development of children’s creative skills.
