A new awareness training on cybersecurity was organized at Mingachevir State University. The training was conducted by Gulyaz Ismayilzadeh, a specialist from the Azərbaycan Kibertəhlükəsizlik Assosiasiyası, for students of the InT 25 group majoring in Information Technology. The session focused on the use of the Wireshark program.
The main objective of the training was to provide students with practical knowledge on monitoring network traffic, analyzing data packets, identifying network issues, and detecting potential cyberattacks. During the session, topics such as the software interface, packet capturing, filtering rules, analysis of TCP/IP protocols, and traffic inspection from a network security perspective were thoroughly explained.
The specialist demonstrated real network traffic examples, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with packet structures, IP address analysis, and the functioning principles of ports and protocols.
The training was conducted in an interactive format, students’ questions were addressed, and the importance of network analysis in cybersecurity was particularly emphasized.
At the end of the session, it was noted that the Wireshark program is widely used in cybersecurity, network administration, and digital forensics, and students were encouraged to further develop their knowledge in this field.
