Mingachevir State University Hosts “Women’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship” Hackathon

Mingachevir State University has hosted the “Women’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship” Hackathon aimed at unlocking women’s leadership potential, encouraging their active participation in entrepreneurial activities, and strengthening their impact in the socio-economic environment.

Organized at the initiative of the Internship and Career Department, the event created an intensive working environment where rapid idea generation, collaboration, and creativity were at the forefront. The hackathon contributed to promoting inclusive development, innovative thinking, and gender equality-oriented initiatives within the university.

During the event, speakers emphasized the importance of increasing women’s role in economic and social life and highlighted that expanding their access to entrepreneurship opportunities is essential for sustainable development.

The main focus of the hackathon was to address real challenges faced by women through innovative approaches. Participants worked on ideas such as digital tools that expand women’s access to business opportunities, flexible work models, platforms facilitating access to financial resources, and mentorship-based development programs. The proposed solutions were designed with mechanisms applicable in real market conditions.

One of the distinctive features of the hackathon was that participants developed their ideas from initial concepts into functional models within a short period of time. Teams applied a problem–solution approach, ensuring a balance between social impact and economic sustainability in their projects.

Throughout the event, participants operated in a dynamic environment requiring teamwork, rapid decision-making, and effective communication, which significantly contributed to the development of both their professional and personal skills. The collaboration of participants from diverse fields strengthened interdisciplinary approaches and enabled the creation of more innovative solutions to complex problems.

At the final stage, teams presented their projects to a jury panel. The evaluation was based on criteria such as social impact, innovation, practical applicability, and long-term sustainability. The most successful and promising projects were recognized, and participants received practical recommendations for further development.

The event was attended by representatives of the university administration, faculty members, and experts in relevant fields.

It should be noted that the “Women’s Leadership and Entrepreneurship” Hackathon stands out as an important initiative in empowering women, enhancing their leadership and entrepreneurial skills, and encouraging their active participation in socio-economic processes. Mingachevir State University will continue to support such initiatives to promote inclusive development, strengthen innovation culture, and foster active engagement of youth in society.
