On September 25, 2025, a training session titled “The Current State of Implementing Student-Centered, Problem-Based, Competency-Based Teaching, and Approaches Based on the Integration of Theory and Practice in Teaching Methods” was organized at the Mingachevir Medical College. The training was conducted by Sabina Guliyeva, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology at Mingachevir State University. Lecturers of the department Aytakin Karimova and Turkana Yusubova also participated in the training.

The main objective of the training was to explain the role of modern pedagogical approaches in the teaching process and to develop teachers’ methodological knowledge and skills aimed at establishing a student-centered learning environment.

During the event, participants were provided with information about the key features of student-centered and problem-based learning approaches, the content of competency-based education, and the possibilities for applying these approaches in medical education. Discussions emphasized the importance of linking theoretical knowledge with practical activities, and participants exchanged views on various methods and strategies that can be applied in the teaching process.

At the end of the training, participants discussed the essence of student-centered and competency-based education, identified competency-based student-centered teaching methods, and explored ways of applying them in the teaching process. The training not only contributed to the professional development of participants but also helped form practical perspectives on implementing modern approaches in the educational process.
