A training titled “Smart City Technologies” was held at the Mingachevir Youth House, jointly organized by the Departments of Mechanics and Information Technologies of Mingachevir State University (MSU). The main purpose of the training was to discuss the possibilities of applying innovative technologies in the management of modern cities and to inform participants about new approaches for the more efficient organization of urban infrastructure and services.
The event was opened with an introductory speech by Mahir Ismayilov, Head of the Department of Mechanics. In his speech, he provided brief information about the management of urban transport systems through modern technologies and their development prospects within the framework of the “Year of Architecture and Urban Planning” declared in the country and in line with MSU’s sustainable development goals. He also touched upon existing challenges in this field and possible solutions, wishing success to the researchers and participants.
Within the framework of the training, several presentations were delivered on different topics. Elgiz Mahmudov, a lecturer of the Department of Information Technologies, presented on “Smart Management and Digital Services”; Tunzala Alifova, a lecturer of the Department of Mechanics, presented on “Smart Transportation Systems”; Maryam Asadova, a lecturer of the Department of Information Technologies, delivered a presentation on “The Smart City Concept: Application of Smart Technologies in Modern Cities”; and Leyla Shukurova presented on “Energy Efficiency and Green Technologies.”
The presentations provided detailed information about the application of smart city technologies, the development of digital governance systems, the optimization of urban transportation, and modern approaches to increasing energy efficiency.
At the end of the training, participants’ questions related to the topic were answered, and an exchange of views was held on the discussed issues.
