As part of their visit to the Republic of Türkiye, representatives of Mingachevir State University (MSU)—Azər Hüseyn, Director of the Lifelong Learning School; Aidə Mustafayeva, Head of the Information Technologies Department; and Qurban Qurbanzadə, a staff member of the Public Relations Department—visited the DEPARK Technopark operating under Dokuz Eylül University in Izmir.
During the meeting, Mehmet Çeliksan, Manager of the Bambu Entrepreneurship Office, and Ezgi Gelmen, a representative of the Entrepreneurship Department, provided detailed information about the technopark’s history, areas of activity, its role in the entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystem, mechanisms for supporting startup projects, and the stages through which students’ innovative ideas are transformed into real products.
It was noted that DEPARK Technopark operates as a strategic platform connecting the scientific potential of Dokuz Eylül University with the industrial sector, promoting innovative initiatives, commercializing research outcomes, and implementing training, seminars, and mentorship programs aimed at developing young entrepreneurs.
As part of the visit, Qurban Qurbanzadə delivered a presentation about MSU, highlighting the economic potential of Mingachevir as an industrial and energy hub, the university’s material and technical base, its international relations, efforts toward the digitalization of higher education, and initiatives supporting student creativity and startup activities.
In addition, based on the Memorandum of Understanding signed between MSU and Dokuz Eylül University, opportunities for joint cooperation with DEPARK Technopark were discussed. The parties reached an agreement on developing collaboration in organizing joint startup projects, delivering innovation-oriented training programs, and initiating joint research activities.
At the end of the visit, the MSU representatives toured the facilities and working environment of DEPARK Technopark. The meeting was assessed as an important step toward expanding cooperation in innovation and entrepreneurship between the higher education institutions of Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
