MSU’s Sustainable Energy and Regional Development Research Institute Holds Training on Finance and Portfolio Diversification with International Expert

On June 17, 2026, Mingachevir State University hosted a training session for undergraduate and graduate students, as well as young faculty members, organized by the Sustainable Energy and Regional Development Research Institute.

The guest speaker of the hybrid-format training was Professor Dr. Cihan Tanrıöven, a specialist in accounting and finance from Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University in Türkiye.

During the session, titled “The Impact of Behavioral Biases on Portfolio Diversification Decisions,” detailed discussions were held on investor behavior in modern financial markets, psychological factors influencing decision-making processes, and the role of behavioral finance in investment strategies.

In his presentation, Professor C. Tanrıöven spoke about the key factors affecting investors’ choices and explained, through real economic examples, how human psychology influences the formation of investment portfolios and diversification decisions.

The topic, which is highly relevant in the context of the modern economy and financial markets, was met with great interest by the participants. The training concluded with an interactive exchange of views and a question-and-answer session.
