On March 5, 2025, a seminar on “Methods of Monitoring and Analysis of Pollution in Reservoir Basins” was held at S. Vurgun No. 16 Technical and Natural Sciences Lyceum, organized by the Department of Physics and Ecology of Mingachevir State University.

The seminar featured presentations by lecturers of the Department of Physics and Ecology on various topics. The main objective of the event was to raise awareness among school students about the protection of water resources, their efficient management, and environmental challenges.

Within the framework of the seminar, Natavan Valiyeva, a lecturer of the department, delivered a presentation on “Protection and Efficient Use of Water Resources in the Modern Era,” highlighting the importance of conserving water resources and modern approaches applied in this field.

Then, Gulmira Mammadova, a lecturer of the same department, presented on “Reservoirs and Their Environmental Problems,” addressing ecological risks in water bodies, sources of pollution, and prevention methods. She also acted as the moderator of the seminar, contributing to the effective organization of discussions.

Finally, Gülgün Israfilova, another lecturer of the department, spoke on “Ecological Problems of Azerbaijan’s Reservoirs and Sustainable Management Approaches,” providing insights into the current state of water resources in the country, environmental challenges, and sustainable management mechanisms.

At the end of the event, discussions were held with participants and school students, their questions were answered, and an exchange of ideas took place.

It should be noted that Mingachevir State University regularly organizes such awareness-raising events aimed at enhancing environmental education among youth, promoting the protection of water resources, and supporting sustainable development principles.
